In the absense of Tarion, who is more of an advisor to the Fihalthi clan than a leader, Fiyero takes on the responsibilities of being Clan Leader. Although he may be young, he is wise beyond his years and very dedicated to his task. He has the best interest of his members at heart and is not afraid to take a stand.
